Hans Albert Eriksen (1899-1988), was born in Copenhagen Denmark in 1899. He lived in London from the early 1930s to 1988. Hans was an accomplished artist and his drawings are finished to a high standard. His artworks were drawn & painted in the 1940s to the 1960s. They vary in size, from small detailed drawings to large high quality female nude portraits.. His portraits use a variety of mediums, watercolour, gouache, pastel, chalk, pen, & pencil. They are drawn & painted on textured paper, watercolour paper, cardboard, wallpaper, wrapping paper, fibre boards & sketch book pages.

Hans settled in London from the early 1930s. In 1937 an entry in Kelly’s business directory lists him as a tobacconist. He lived in Ellington Road Muswell Hill NW10 from 1947-1988. He was well travelled and is recorded on a ships passenger list, travelling from Cape Town South Africa in 1954.

He attended Barnet Art School and his paintings are mainly models from Barnet Art School and of local working class people he befriended in the Muswell Hill area of London.
